Well, I'm going to venture from my original intent of Crash Test. It's supposed to be about southern rock and/or small/independent label bands... but I just can't stick to my guns this time. I have to tell you about this great new CD that I can't stop playing! I'd heard Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy by Big & Rich on the radio and their eclectic style piqued my curiosity. Their CD, Horse of a Different Color, was on sale at Barnes & Noble and decided, for once in a very long time, to give something new a try. Man, I was NOT disappointed! These guys rock! It's the most refreshing and exciting music I've heard in years. It ain't southern rock but it has attitude! Hell, some may say it's not even really country. Who gives a rip. I haven't stopped playing it since I bought it. The boys call it, "country music without prejudice" and they certainly back it up. They throw in elements of rock, bluegrass, country and RAP! And I'll be damned - I love it! And I do believe it has the best sound quality of any album I've ever heard. When you play it, you gotta crank it up for full effect. It is one WILD ride. The music and lyrics are off the cuff. I've found my favorite music has always been created by those who have stretched boundaries or created new ones. These guys are no different. Big and Rich don't just venture into new territory, they're out of the stratosphere. Their web site says, "you know what happens when two planets collide? You get a whole new universe." Quite apt about this music. It's wild - and I love it! Feelin' old and staid in your ways? Bust out this CD and let it rock your world - you'll feel like a kid again, back when music set you free.
