The Fryed Brothers Band passed the Crash Test the first time I caught their act when they opened for Tucker at the Pozo Saloon in San Luis Obispo in 1999.  They played for almost two hours and tore up the stage!  Their style of music?  Think Charlie Daniels sittin' in with Skynyrd...  Think jaw dropping good!  Their live show has the energy of vintage MTB.

The band was formed in 1980 to honor Mark Fryed, the oldest brother of founders Harry and Tommy Fryed.  Mark was killed while riding his Harley.  It was his love of music that inspired his younger brothers to begin playing and they formed the band to keep his memory alive.  They hail from the Sacramento, California and play all over the United States.  Harry is the lead vocalist and also plays fiddle and harmonica.  He's also the band's primary song writer as well.  His brother, Tommy, plays lead and rhythm guitar.  Dave Channel is the band's bassist, Alan Scott is on drums and Doug McDowell plays lead and slide guitar.

To date the band has released three CDs.  Their latest, The Roar of Dirty Thunder, features Willie Nelson on the title cut. The remaining titles are; Fast Lane, She's So Fine, Wrapped in My Arms Again, Intersextion of Love, Hot Summer Morning, Wages of Musicians, Key to my Heart and Steel Wheels.

Their debut CD, released in 1989, offers titles like California Bound, Slow Down, No More Slow Songs, Bustin' Some Heads, Too Much Fun (Still Ain't Enough)... and their music is just that, good rockin' fun!

Their sophomore effort, I Ride, was released in 1993 and features Fryed Brothers Boogie, Whatchagonndo?, High Speed Man, Riding Through the Night, I Ride, Bring Out the Love in You, Circles, Ladies of the Night, Carter Road and one of my all-time favorites, Get On, Hold Tight, Shut Up!

All three CDs rock, roll and take you down a country road.  They even throw in a bit of Western Swing and blues for good measure.  I can tell ya they're worth every cent.  I like 'em and I think you will, too!  Their CDs can be be purchased by contacting Barb at Barbfryed@aol.com or call her at 707-824-4861.  Be sure to tell her you heard about the Bros at Tuckerhead ;)  Visit their website at:  www.fryedbrothersband.com
